Glyphorium
"It is almost impossible to look and read at the same time: they are different actions.”
— Gerard Unger

Glyphorium is a generative art project where the familiar confines of typography break free from convention and plunge into the world of the abstract.

This collection reimagines the fundamental components of language, transforming them into a mesmerizing visual spectacle.

Within Glyphorium, each creation bursts with vibrant colors and striking forms, illuminating the boundless horizons of design. These glyphs shed their traditional meanings, emerging as independent masterpieces, each a testament to the infinite potential of art.

It’s an homage to the art of deconstruction, where letters transcend their role as mere text and instead become elements to be felt, with their well-known curves and lines taking on newfound autonomy, free from the constraints of syntax and semantics

As chance breathes new life into familiar alphabet characters, the result is a dynamic and ever-evolving art gallery. Every piece represents a fusion of precision + randomness, communicating through the universal language of color and form, transcending the limitations of text

NOTE: This collection was originally created on Prohibition, a generative art platform on the Arbitrum blockchain (Ethereum L2) that utilized the Artblocks engine, with all code stored on-chain. Unfortunately, Prohibition.art shut down in late 2024. While the artwork images in the collection can still be viewed on OpenSea, there is currently no direct link to the HTML tokens that showcase the animations and interactivity.

To preserve the intended experience, I’ve uploaded my original code and made available as a direct link. You can explore the work as it was meant to be seen by refreshing the page for new random outputs, as the generated image is only one part of the creative process.
